| Removing
a pork chunk from a jig can be a wrestling match
but here's how to do it the easy way. It's simple
but you have to use both hands and watch the hook!
While holding the jig in your right hand and pork
in your left, slide the pork chunk up to the hook
barb, it should be perpendicular to the hook
shank. Slowly rotate it down and away from your
body, forcing the barb through the opening of the
skin side of the pork. Amazingly, it pops right
out! It's tougher with a new piece of pork, but
generally gets easier after a few eight-pounders
and a few 80 degrees days. The older and uglier
that chunk gets the easier it comes off. The
opening enlarges and allows the barb to slip
though it much easier. Now, that's the easy way -
the easiest way is to use a Yamamoto grub trailer!
