A complete set of rules, identical to the list
below, will be available for each angler to sign at his/her first
tournament. By your participation in this tournament, you agree to
comply with the following rules and agree to submit to and pass a
POLYGRAPH TEST or similar truth test in order to qualify for the
receipt of any prize. Test may be given at random. Your signature
also releases CAT, its members, committee, and its sponsors from
any misfortune that you may encounter during tour events. This is
all volunteer work for the pleasure of fishing..
1. You may enter alone or with a partner of your
choice, entry fee is still $50.00. Practice is allowed until the
day before the tournament. Only one to two anglers per boat at any
given time.
2. Tournament waters shall be defined as areas
open to all participants of the event and accessible by normal
navigational means only. Fishing within 50 feet of a marina gas
pump or within 50 feet of a competitors boat, that is first and
anchored, is prohibited. (Trolling motor must be in up position
and anchor rope visible to be considered anchored.) A safe and
courteous distance should be maintained when trolling motors are
in use. Any violation of off limit waters will result in
disqualification.
3. Teams will blast off at 7AM according to their
number on team chip received on the morning of the tournament.
Their will be a computer drawing on the Wednesday before the
tournament to calculate blast off numbers for each team. Any
entries received after deadline date will start off at the bottom
of the computer drawing according to time payment was received.
4. Phone registration by credit cards are accepted
with a $10.00 processing fee. Deadline date is the Tuesday before
the tournament to be in the computer drawing. Wednesday through
Saturday, entry fee is $60.00 per boat.
5. Teams may use rod and reel combos, hand held
pole and reel combos or hand held poles. Eight pole limit per team
applies except where state limit is set at a lesser number.
6. Live and artificial bait may be used. Landing
net also maybe used.
7. Teams must comply with all state fishing and
boating regulations, including the use of P.F.D.'s and kill
switches. Fishing and boating regulations and licenses are the
responsibility of the team members.
8. Crappie must be weighed at the official CAT
Team Tournament weigh in site. Both team members must be present
at the time of weigh in to be eligible for prizes.
9. A team can weigh in not more than 10 crappie
and those 10 crappie must be alive when entering the official
weigh in line. No dead fish will be allowed.
10. All crappie brought to the scales for weigh in
must have been caught during the tournaments hours from the
tournament waters by the team bringing them to the scales.
11. All crappie presented for weigh in must meet
state length requirements for state in which they are being
weighed. Any measured fish that is short, contestant will loose
short fish plus biggest fish caught that day.
12. Big Fish entries are included in the entry
fee. Only one Big Fish entry per team. Only one(1) big fish will
be weighed in and contestants will have that fish marked and
designated as his/her big fish at weigh in.
13. A chip with your boat number will be given to
you. This is your blast off number and chip should be returned and
in the can by designated time. If time is 2PM. can is taken up as
soon as time hits 2PM. Chips are taken up after 2PM with a 1 pound
penalty per minute late. Maximum of 10 minutes.
14. Any team having a member who has failed or
refused to take a polygraph test or was on a team that was
disqualified or denied a prize because either of that team failed
or refused to take a polygraph or who has ever been denied a prize
because he or she misrepresented compliance with tournament rule
will be disqualified.
15. Any minor who participates (under 18) must
make arrangements to have a parent or guardian present at the
weigh in to sign a release form or have the release on the entry
form signed prior to the tournament to allow a polygraph
examination if required by the tournament director.
16. Protest must be made in writing to a committee
member within 30 minutes following the end of the official weigh
in. All protest must site the rule number(s) allegedly broken.
17. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed during CAT
Tournaments or at any given time of that event on tournament day.
18. During tournament hours no one may spot fish
for you or mark fishing spots for you.
19. No hole sitting by competitor or
non-competitor boat during the tournament will be allowed.
20. The use of mobile communication devices such
as cellular phones, marine radios, walkie talkies, and CB's to
communicate fishing information during tournament hours is
strictly prohibited. |
